Biography

Richard was born in 1942. He was the son of Richard Allen Bonine and Thelma Messenger. He passed away in 2017. [1] His son Richard Wayne Bonine wrote the following obituary that appeared in the Enid Morning News on 6 April 2017. "Richard Lee Bonine, 74, formerly of Garber, Oklahoma, passed away on March 31, 2017, while residing in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Bonine graduated Garber Public Schools in 1960 and was a member of the high school football team. The Wolverines had a reputation as a tough team at that time, a reputation that Richard took with him for the rest of his life. He often spoke of his teammates and coaches and tried to pass off the life lessons he learned during that time to family, friends and co-workers. After graduating from Garber High, he went on to college, where he earned a degree that brought him into the Oklahoma oilfields. His career began in the local oilfields and eventually took him across the country and around the world. During his travels, he make friends with a wide variety of people in a wide variety of places, but he was always an Okie at heart. Richard married twice in his lifetime, both times to good women who managed to turn most of his four kids into fairly decent adults. He was a loving and supportive father and grandfather who always wanted the best for the kids in his life. Bonine was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, all of whom had a strong hand in his rearing and a profound impact on his life. He is survived by his wife, four children, one grandchild and two brothers and two sisters. Due to the location of death and surviving family, there will be no funeral services. The family asks for no flowers or donations, just a simple thought for those who lost him or a toast in his honor would be appreciated."
