Henry was born in 1839. He is the son of David Claypoole and Sarah Hickey.[1]
In 1870 he and his wife and their daughter lived on a farm in West Franklin Township, next door to her parents. He owned real property worth $1900 and personal property worth $375.
In 1880 he and his wife and their two surviving daughters lived on a farm in West Franklin Township next door to Robert Huston and his wife Eliza Minteer and their family. Margaret was ill with "ulcers on womb", so they had a housekeeper living with them: 20-year-old Harriet Anthony.
In 1900 he and Margaret and their four children lived on a farm in the same township--possibly the same place. They owned their farm, mortgage free. Marinda worked as a school teacher and Jeremiah as a farm laborer.
In 1910 he and his wife and their three youngest children still lived there. Jerry and Earl worked on the home farm.
In 1920 he, Marinda, and Earl lived with Ada and her husband in a house they owned, mortgage free, in Vandergrift, PA. Ada's husband worked as a pair (or pan?) heater in a steel mill and Earl as a laborer in a box factory.
