Aaltje (baptized Aartje) was born in 1760 at Harderwijk to Peter Rijkertsze and Jannetje Aartss. [1] Throughout available records she is documented under various combinations and variations of the name Aaltje Peters Rijkerts Luiting.

At Harderwijk in May of 1786 Aaltje was married (under the forename Alida) to Claas Cornelisze. [2]
