Biography

Antje was baptized on April 19, 1697 at Kingston, the daughter of Symon and Eypjen (Jans) Schouten.^[1]

Church Record of Antje's baptism: 1697 Apr 18; parents Symon Schouten, Eyckje [Eypjen] Janssen; witnesses Abram la Maeter, Elsje la Meeter (#959 in Hoes)^[2]

The Settlers of the Beekman Patent series, by Frank J. Doherty, includes a biographical sketch, "Second Oakley Family" about Jonathan Oakley. Doherty asserts that Jonathan was born about 1700 in England. He married c. 1721 Antje bp. at Kingston 18 April 1697 daughter of Symon and Eypjen (Jans) Schouten.^[1][3]
