My personal project on the history of New France ( www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Chronicles_of_New_France ) and its many sub-categories are in need of peer review and contributions. Could you help?

This is very interesting, George. Thank you for putting together this History of New France. You addition of color backgrounds makes it especially nice.

Do you know anything about the Venable or Boudreaux families and their connections to Acadia? I have connections to those families in New Orleans

Thank you for your kind words Sharon.  Wish I could help you with your Venable and Boudreaux roots. Perhaps I'll uncover something later.
These families are also connected to St.Amant, Thibideaux and Trauth. Trauth might be German. Not sure when Germans came to Louisiana. Iknow my Italians lines got there in the late 1800s.

The Acadians became the Cajuns and settled along the river west of New Orleans. Do you know how many families came south from Acadia? Thanks again!

I am going to link your page to the US Southern Colonies French resource page.  Nice job and if you are interested in the Southern Colonies project which encompasses Spanish, French and English colonies, please let us know!

Nae,

I'm thankful you find value in the Chronicles of New France category page. Sadly, no one has accepted my request for peer assistance in the project, and as you know, a collaborative team is a prerequisite for the development of a Project Page. Hopefully, your linking of the chronicles within your project will kindle some interest in Chronicles of New France and the multitude of sub-projects it encompasses.

Within a week, I'll link the Chronicles of New France to your project and remove some experimental aspects from the chronicles page, in particular, the links to my direct ancestors. I hope to also remove my name from that page, but hesitate to do so until a project page is introduced to guide its development and maintenance.

I'm delighted to find that the US Southern Colonies French is well established. That project covers ground that I had peripherally anticipated as a probable next step in my endeavors. What a relief it is to know I can devote my full attention to the colonial Acadian and Quebecois French settlements north and west of British colonial Massachusetts.

George, I have finally read that page, and the contents are wonderful. I'm really lookiing forward to seeing more. I just wish I knew more about the histories of the Seigneuries, and that of the fur trade ... I know some of my ancestors were legal fur traders, and others not so legal.
George,

Take heart!  You just have to find someone who is like minded and as enthusiastic as you are!  Many people start out just trying to trace their individual line (myself included) and initially ignore siblings and their relationships, but over time tend to discover that the full picture gives so much more information (especially when you are stumped).  So be patient, and keep plugging away.  Also contact Jillaine, Smith-32867 directly and she may be able to point you to some other like minded folks!

Thank you again so much for a great page!

I'm quite willing to help as I can, not entirely sure how it works for the editing part etc.

Danielle,

I am pleased to have you collaborate on the Chronicles of New France, one of the sub-projects of Canadian History.

You do not need my permission to work on any of the categories or profiles relating to the chronicles.

Simply go to http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Projects to find the project(s) you would like to join. Upon being added to the project team(s) you will have opportunity to list your specific interests and needs on the relevant project page(s).

Two projects you many wish to join are:

http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Acadians

http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Quebecois

You may contact me via email if you need additional information, support or mentoring.

George,

am already part of Quebecois project, not part of Acadians project as such, although I do tag people with that category when appropriate, since I do have ancestors who were Acadian.  What I was referring to was on the chronicles themselves, I love history and am pretty handy with a search engine.  Just not sure where you need or want help specifically.
