Hello. I'm trying to find when my grandmother and grandfather immigrated to Newfoundland from Denmark. I believe my grandmother, Laura (Murry) Pedersen was about ten years old and my grandfather Paul Pedersen was around the age of 20. Was there an estimated time of mass immegration to that area between 1880 and 1920ish? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Sonja! I've tried The Danish Emigration Archive, but neither of them are in the database. Since all emigrants was obliged to register at the Copenhagen Police it is where to find them. The database contains all emigrants from 1869 and up to 1908, but more years to come in future. They must have emigrated after 1908. I'll give you a link making it possible for you to follow the progress.

http://www.emiarch.dk/search.php3?l=en (emigrants)

http://www.ddd.dda.dk/ddd_en.htm (demographic database)

Be patient they will show up some day.
