For example, I want to find all O'Briens that have lived or died in North Carolina or in Montgomery County, TN.

Mary,

I'm not a leader or a member of the team, so I can't really answer properly.  I also can't add tags to someone else's question, like those folks can.  You can add tags to your own question, though, and I recommend that you add the "improvements" tag - that will bring it to the right people's attention faster.

I can answer the "possible" part of your question with a resounding YES.  It is certainly possible to do (and I agree that it would be a great capability to have), although it will add a significant level of complication.  It would take some effort to do the programming that can make it happen, but it will also make the searches take much longer to run, leaving you waiting for the result to be displayed and the server resources needed to do it might even slow down WikiTree for all users while these searches are being done.  For that reason, they may decide that it is not a good thing to do.

Ideas like this one are very good to present - users are the best ones to come up with ways to improve WikiTree since its purpose is to optimize users' ability to find and add to the massive amount of data that is stored here.  Please keep the ideas coming!!!!
