How do I list my colonial ancestors from family records without info being garbled?

Could you describe "garbled"? What specifically is happening, and what steps did you take leading up to that?

One profile at a time, with sources of course. This allows you to make sure that each individual has organized correct data, before you go on to the next.

With colonial ancestors, you may find that they are already listed here at Wikitree. In which case add any additional data you have and sources
