Looking for information on Henry A. Decker of Pennsylvania, b. 1878

Henry A. Decker was my great-grandfather. He was born in Lycoming Co. PA in 1878 and married Ella C. Shafer. I have Henry's mother's name, Mary Crum b. 1848, but I know nothing beyond that. From all the information I've found his parents were born  in and they stayed in the Lycoming PA area. Does anyone else have anything that can prove they didn't appear out of nowhere?

Thank you! I had found this in the census records, but the dates didn't match the information I had already so I didn't want to verify this was the one I was looking for.
Name: Mrs Mary Decker
[Mrs Mary Hanck]
Gender: Female
Race: White
Age: 77
Birth Date: 30 Jun 1848

Death Place: Williamsport, Lycoming, Pennsylvania, USA
Father Name: Silus Hanck
Father Birth Place: Pennsylvania
Mother Name: Athony Crem

This record seems to indicate that she was named Hanck at one time.

Father Silus Hanck

Mother Athony Crem or Crum.

That explains a lot. I had Mary listed as Maiden name Crum, pulled from a funeral bulletin. I know she lived with Henry and his family for several years. The 1900 census showed this. Lacking the 1890 census really hinders things!  Thank you!

Charles H. Hanck is the undertaker.

All in the family I suppose. :)

Wow! I guess it was a family affair, after all! :-)

According to a list of cemeteries in St. Louis, Bellefontaine Cemetery, not to be confused with Bellefontaine Methodist Cemetery, formerly known as Old Bissell Cemetery.

How interesting that some of the children would stay in PA while the older generation would move to MO. I guess a road trip is in order, since St. Louis is only a few hours away!

Thank you!

One wouldn't think that finding a female named Antonie would be all that hard. Oy!!!

Betty

Almost every search I try wants to default to Anthony Hancock.  I did find this in Pennsylvania Archives 1906, as part of the 78th Continental Line:

Sergeant-Major.
Hanck, Hiram, died in service, 1781, leaving a widow, Hannah.

That's the only reference to a Hanck in that document.
