Jonathan Meads in 1850 census is listed as born 1797 in New Hampshire. Ancestry brought up Jonothan Meeds born 26 Feb. 1796 Walpole, Cheshire co. son of Ephraim Meeds and Lois Royce. She is the daughter of Jonothan Royce who died at Walpole.
I suspect Jno is the same as Jonothan Mead of Granby,Oswego Co Ny in 1830 and
in 1840 in London Twp. Monroe Co Mi as each have a deaf and dumb son listed as does he in 1850 census of Grass Lake. In 1860 he is in Assyria, Barry Co Mi with his son Edwin and both are on same page of 1870 census of E.Irving ,Benton co Iowa
although then erroneously written" John Heede"but born 1796 New Hampshire.
Did he die in Ia? Did he have a daughter Elizabeth Mead(s) married to a Robert Holland. Believe they are the Robert & "Bestey" Holland in 1860 Caledonia,Kent Co Mi and 1870 Napoleon, Jackson Co Mi, just several miles south of Grass lake and she does list her father born "N.H."!!! Also has a son "Eddie" Who is Jonothan's wife "Betsey" and was he married before? So like to prove Elizabeth's parentage
