Born in 1718 and died in 1740, and had time to father 11 children?

I think he died in 1790.

I deleted the date of death. He married in 1740. I can't find a source (other than one unreferenced family website) for any date of death.

There are plenty of men who equate marriage with death ... based on this, it looks like that's been going on for many years <grin>
There last of the eleven children was born in 1768, so apparently there was still a little life left in him after the marriage. <wink>
If he got married in 1740, then it's possible that the original death notation was meant to be "after 1740" -- as in, that's the last known record we have for the guy. But the "after" got dropped along the way...
My guess is that somebody entered the year of the marriage in the wrong data field by mistake. I guess that because that's the sort of mistake I make myself.
