Scratch Pad Bug?

Do other people have this problem? it appears using Firefox/Chrome and Windows XP/7

Problem:  Place some text between a pair of "equals" signs on the Scratch Pad.  ( i.e. =text= ) Close the browser. Re-open the browser and go to your navigation page. The equals signs have been replaced by 3 apostrophes on either side of the text (=text= becomes '''text''' ). .

Oddly, when editing a profile's biography the markup for a major heading is =Text=. This produces "Text" in boldface. The markup for boldface is also 3 apostrophes. Is this a coincidence?

This is not a major problem but it makes it difficult to store URL's in Scratch Pad. URL's often contain a number of equals signs and this bug corrupts them.
