I am searching for my grandfather's grandfather's first name. His grandmother was Susan Amanda Roland, commonly called Mandy. As a young woman she had a carriage accident when a train tooted his horn and startled her horse causing him to run uncontrolable and in the mishap, she broke her hip, causing her to limp.
She was very short , and stocky. Grandpa said she was a "wop" and laugh. She may have been from New York area or of Dutch/German descent. In researching I have found she was the daughter of Allen and Sara Jane Chisum Roland.
Her mother was the daughter of Isham Russell and permelia Roberts Chisum. I was sent data that matches my research from someone who is enrolled in the Native American tribe that stated a Native American heritage. This line was researched much earlier than I by a son of William Joseph Josiah Roland and sent to me. At that time I was not advanced enough in my research and I do not take someone's word but try to back it up with fact.
