Thanks for your reply, however, Mariah Jane Butler Salmons was listed in the 1850 Marshall Co, MS census with her 3 children from Patrick Henry Salmons.

Mariah Jane Butler married  Patrick Henry Salmon in 1844, Carroll Co, Tennessee.  In the 1850 census for Carroll county shows a James Butler of the right age to be the father with a wife named Savannah.  The Savannah name was passed down in the Salmon family of Mariah Jane and Patrick Henry.  May be the father.
