What evidence is there that he is the son of Thomas Lee Compton, because my records show he is not?

I cheked James profile and he has NO manager.  Like Jilliane said, join in. And be the manager of this lineage.  With all the people working on Wikitree and the gedcoms transfered here, it is obvious that some profiles lack of accuracy. Correct the information, help Wikitree by registrating and be a Wikitree genealogist.

This James might be in my family line - which I have not finished adding.  I'll take a look and see.  Mags

Just looked and my line goes back to a John Compton, b. 1755, England.  He settled in Laurens County - area of Gray Court.  They might be connected though.  Anon?  Have you had your DNA tested?  Be cool to see if we do!  Mags
