I may have misadded a relative? Help unlinking?

Hello all,

I was going through some census info and such on some relatives I added a while back and I believe I made a mistake in connecting the individual linked as a relative of mine but I do not want to remove her until I can find her spot and simply move her there. Let's begin unraveling shall we?

It started with this census record:

The 1900 US Census Record listing who I believe(d) to be my great-great-great uncle, John Hruska, his wife, Mary (Harman) Hruska and her mother, Johanna. I then noticed that they were renting from the Sinek family. I guessed that either they just rented from them because they were relatives or because they were both from the same village originally. Either way I was not thrown off by the connection back then.

Further research at the time found nothing on the Sinek family until today when I find possible matching records of a Shimek family in the 1910 US Census.

Many of the pieces fit except instead of James, the husband was named August. I figured that I would do some hunting and found some more connections.

I have since decided that August Shimek and James Sinek were the same individual especially since I found a birth return for a Gustave Shimek. https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1942-23318-49276-72?cc=1932106

Also, once again, John and Mary were living with the Shimek/Sinek family (NOTE: the transcript says that Goshen family lives with the Shimek's which is clearly wrong).

Then I found Gustave's death index record from 1915:

Also, just a few years later, Mary Hruska died.

Here are where connections are cemented between the families:

Up until this point, the family(ies) had been moving from home to home: James St in 1900, 2825 E 112 St in 1910 and now a third home in 20 years.

In Mary's death record it lists her as living at 2879 E 114 St which is where Charles Shimek, the widowed Barbara Shimek and the widower John Hruska all are seen living in 1920.

Also, Charles Simek lists his residence as 2789 E114 St in his WWI Draft card

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1971-26466-18942-98?cc=1968530

Everything still seemd to fit my idea up to this point.

But then I found the marriage records for Charles and his sister Anna:

Anna to Frank Brozka in 1919: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1-17957-2624-4?cc=1614804

Charles to Marie Simek in 1921: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1-17781-89040-20?cc=1614804

According to both these records, Barbara actually is not a Hruska like I thought instead, she is a Hasmann/Hosman which may actually may make her the sister of Mary Hruska.

A further link is that both Barbara and John die within the next 5 years:

Barbara in 1922: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1951-23764-4197-65

John in 1926: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1951-21239-75797-30?cc=1307272

According to John's death record, he was living with the Brozka's when he died as Anna Brozka (his niece?) is the informant and they are at the same address.

I think that is enough for now since I should actually get homework done now but if anybody has any thoughts on this, I would be very appreciative.

Thank you,

Mike

I hate it when that happens!  Good luck Michael.  Small steps win the day.
