Question

If you do, we want you to add your LNAB Templeton's to the Templeton Name Study.

It is completely painless, just add the Category: Templeton Name Study to your Templeton profiles.  Be sure to enclose the words, Category: Templeton Name Study,  in [[ ]]'s and place the category at the top the profile above the Biography heading.

IF you have Templeton DNA Tests, please shoot me a note as I want to coordinate getting those tested into some sub-categories within the project!

Thanks for the heads-up on this, Mags. My g-g-aunt married a Templeton. Her son was a county sheriff in OK. My mom had lots of second cousins who were Templetons.

Debby. What county was your Tenpleton relative from? Wondering if they're kin to descendants of my uncle, Kenny Templeton (1877-1943) who married  Nell Roberts (full blooded Pawnee).  Nell's dad, Rush "Fancy Eagle" Roberts (1860-1958), was born on the Pawnee Reservation in Nebraska & shortly thereafter was moved with his family to the Pawnee Agency, Indian Territory, OK. He had 3 wives (simultaneously) , 13 children & numerous grandchildren.         jacktempleton27 at  me.com

I'm not on the trusted list for my g-g-aunt's husband. Someone else added him before I got to it. This is him: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Templeton-582 He apparently came from Kansas. I've placed additional information about him in the message section. His father was Hiram Templeton who was born in Kentucky.

Thanks for the invite!  I'll get to this as soon as I can but right now I'm in the middle of tax season.  As for a DNA test, I have not done one but have been mulling it over.  I don't know where to start.  Any suggestions would be welcome.

Hey Harold!  We have information about DNA here on WikiTree. 

It would be great if you were tested.  We are planning on creating entries for each of the Templeton DNA groups - we have three that I know of so far on WikiTree - using categories.  The Templeton Name Study Category is the first step.  Thanks for jumping in!  Mags

Hi Mags!  I'm back!  And I've done my DNA test.  Also uploaded the information to gedmatch.com.  I've noted that I've done the test here on WikiTree but I don't know where to go from here.

I ran a one-to-one compare for you and I at Gedmatch - we do not share anything anywhere. To double check this I ran a one-to-one between you and my cousin Sean - No match.

I ran a one-to-many for you and found some WikiTree DNA connections and the closest cousin for you with DNa on WikiTre is: David Sinnott Templeton connection? No idea.

You might try waling down the complete list of Templetons to see who you match with. Seems like there might be a way to automate this...Like this list of Temeplton DNA testers THIS!

I hope you will take a Y-DNA test.  It is much more useful to help sort out which Templetons are related and are not related.
