Hi Johnlene,

I didn't find who John's parents are yet, but I have been adding a few records and details to them and their children as I find them.  I hope you are able to use them as sources.

I'll still be digging....

HIs death cert says he was born in GA, however all the census data indicates he was born in IL, including those with Melissa Carrie.

It appears he is likely the son of (?Rev../Deacon) William Richardson and his first wife Harriet.    Do you know the names of any of his siblings?

See the links below.

John L Richardson:  born IL with father William

If you click on WikiTree profile: John Richardson, and read the Biography about immigration from Scotland, the following may have some validity, otherwise, the following would be inaccurate as to the names of his parents:

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XYYB-2QX

The cemetery indicates a triple marker at a Logan Richardson's grave site and the birth day is identical.

Richardson, Logan 4-23-1856 9-9-1943 Triple Marker

He is said to have been born 23 April 1856, but the John Richardson who was born in Scotland is shown to have been born 29 April 1856.

Any chance  that 29  April 1856 is actually a baptimal date?
