Thomas Davis-10138 died a wealthy, young, former ships captain in bed in his home in New Haven, Connecticut on 1843-07-25 at age 36 according to the obituary notice on his profile. He had married a socially prominent (and probably well-to-do) woman, Harriet Newell Rich, on July 25, 1832. Thus it is amazing to me that I have been unable to find his place of birth or parents. Their were Davis families in the southern USA who had ships captains and men named Thomas, but I have not been able to find a connection. His widow died a very wealthy woman (I have papers from her estate) on 1876-12-07. I have the bible she acquired at the time of his death.
