looking for adam currie

Question

looking to find any trace of adam currie born 1839/41..the only info we have is that he was born in england and mothers name was mary currie..no known fathers name..he came back to dumfries and worked as a railway porter...married grace grindall in 1861 in dumfries...he died in dumfries in 1884

Adam traveled to NY in 1869 on S S Java.                             familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QVPV-4P39

familysearch.org  has daughters, Grace, Mary Elizabeth, Margaret, and Annie. Sons are Benjamin Irving and John-Grindall.

I suspect that his mother, Mary, took on her husbands surname of Currie. Did not find her or a maiden name.
