Why can't I merge a couple of people in my tree?

I trie to merge Berry 5989 and Berry 5988 and it says that they both are invalid. They are listed in my watchlist, how can they be invalid?

You could also disconnect one of the Elizabeths as a child of these parents and make her a child of James or one of the other brothers.

Hi Karyn,

Try the same thing but include a hyphen between the names and numbers.

That should do it.
