Looking for father of Franklin Grant born in 1849.

Any ideas of where to start looking for the parents of Franklin Grant born in 1849? They seem to have just disappeared and there are several people with the same name.

I have searched census records and the place he was born changes. It usually says Ohio, but sometimes it says missouri and I think there was even another place  in there.

Would this Franklin Grant you are speaking of happen to be married to a woman named Dulcenie or Dulcena, or Dulcie (Jones)? Also known by his full name of Elisha Franklin Grant . If so according to the 1860 census records he is shown to have been 5 years old making him born in or around 1855 ,

Do you have the name of his wife and the year and location of their marriage?

Have you the year and location  of his death?

Yes, he died in 1926 in Missouri. His wife was Mary C. Crane. But nobody seems to be able to verify his parents.
