There were at least four Elisha Brown's born in NC between 1809-1812. One moved to Monterey, CA by 1850; and another moved to Lincoln, TN by 1860; and a third to MS by 1870; and one was still in NC in 1870.

I went to Family Search (a totally free site) and found the same information as Frank above. I just typed in Elisha Brown, then United States and NC 1805-1815 and found several. Too many to narrow down with the information available.
Thanks for your answer. Apparently, Elisha Brown was a very common name back then! Although it looks like there is too many to narrow down, I went through them (been searching for a long time) and none of them are him. They appear to be correct, but the information isn't right.
I have found all of what's listed above, it's just that I am unable to figure out who his parents were or anything other than his date of birth and his subsequent marriage to Hannah Ricketts and his children's names. After Elisha and Hannah Ricketts' arrival to California by covered wagon, Elisha went to the Gold Fields here in California at Indian Diggings and never returned home. That's all the information I have about him but I really wanted to figure out who exactly his parents were as I am trying not to just guess and make names fit.
Thanks again, Erin
