Rebecca anderson married old john hash her parents were stated to be john anderson and a Rebecca they had a son william horton hash so since i don't know rebecca's last name i thought with william having the middle name of horton it was possible she was a horton.

thank you

It seems that  you're talking about this Rebeccca http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Anderson-3202

One thing is certain; she wasn't born in Montgomery county as it wasn't formed until 100 years later.

The only reason I'm answering this because in my Tankersley genealogy we have Anderson and Hortons closely related, so I would have to give a definite yes to your inquiry.  My Anderson is Faith who married Peleg Ferguson, but my Horton is not related to me except by marriages linking to the Tankerslry side.

Given the conflicting claims as to Rebecca (Anderson) Hash's parents, the Rebecca (Anderson) who married John might not be a Horton and in fact, might not even be Rebecca's mom.  The other possibility, which is listed on findagrave.com, is that Rebecca was the daughter of Paul Jacob Anderson and Susannah, whose last name is unknown, but thought to be Buchanan.

The myth goes that Old John Hash first married Rebecca Anderson, whose parents are disputed.  It is only a myth that's been passed down.  The name of Old John Hash's first wife is still unknown, but facts show her name was not and never was Rebecca Anderson.  John H. Hash, however, did marry a Rebecca Anderson.  John H. was the brother of William Horton Hash, Sr.

It's already been shown that Rebecca (Anderson) Hash was a myth.  Old John Hash's first wife is unknown.  His second wife was Elizabeth Sturgill.

William Horton Hash's brother, John H. Hash, married Rebecca Anderson, daughter of Jacob Anderson and Susannah, whose last name may have been Buchanan, but that has not been verified.

Your question is moot at this moment.
