Parents of Pleasant Henderson Scott

Question

I am the gggrandaughter of Pleasant Henderson Scott, born 1820-either TN. or KY. I have recently started my family tree and he is the one that I am stuck on. I would like help in finding who his parents were. He had siblings- the ones that are definite are Robert Edley Scott b.1815 and Cooper Scott b.?  I know he died in Todd County Ky between 1906-1910. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Pleasant's brother Cooper Scott was my 4x gr.grandfather. He was b. 1805 and died 1886 in Warren County, TN. The 1870 census says Cooper's father was "of foreign birth" and his mother was not. However, the 1880 census says both his father and mother were born in South Carolina. I know this doesn't help much but it might be something to go by.  Also, I have heard that Cooper and Pleasant may have been half-brothers, so they might have had different mothers.
