Note:  There is another Brunswick Regt Brner soldier of the
Jaeger (Chasseur) Comp. with the name Johann Heinrich Albrecht
born at Wolfenbuettell, age given as 26 years (1752/53) and
i some instances is listed as Jean, but usually the German
calling name would have been Henry (Heinrich) & it is not
established exactly which of the two has been recorded.
It i quite difficult to keep these two apart, although there
us a difference in age of 6 years.  Place of birth is
practically the same, although in the old records Heinrich is
listed from Salzdahlum (Salzthal)
More research need especially in Church records.

Can someone take a look at these - they look so similar to me & want to know what you think.

Heinrich Albrecht is correct in my family tree.  Even though our New York people have started to pronouce it Albright, it has always  spelled ALBRECHT. My father-in-law traced this spelling of the name back to "Albrecht the BEAR" from Germany. He founded the city of Berlin.  Our brach of the family is from the Gartow area of Germany.  All our on the mainold family records are at   St.Georges Evangelische Kirche (church)   on main street in Gartow. If you look up Gartow on google it will show you the village and the church.

Hi Jennifer

Realize his name was Johanne Heinrich Albrecht but it appears to have been changed upon his move into Quebec or shortly after.  The above came from a group of enquiries made several years go about this man  Will try Gartow Site & see if I can find anything  There were dozens of men born as Johanne Henreich Albrecht in Prussia (Germany) but not so sure if yours is the same as mine.  Do you have a wife or his children?  When starting on this site did not realize it would be so hard to change something after starting it.  Wanted to have all his names, but now see should not have done that.   Really would like to change this but it would screw up the whole thing - apparently.

Was hoping someone with knowleddge of the French system (in Quebec) would see this & perhaps get me more information on this man.  Thank you.
