Thanks for the details you have given, that will help people search.

Was he a war casualty?
No, he was injured during the Koreon war and was disabled. I have his death certificate and military records but nothing else on how he lived. I don't even have a picture of him. I have no idea what he looks like. I was born in San Antonio, TEX in 1952. I believe by that time he was already discharged from the Army and going to the army doctors in San Antonio at the time when he met my mother. It's a long story but my family is of little help  to me in this matter and has offered no information but his name. I recently found the information that I do have now through a researcher. The person  was refered to me by the Army.

Hello,

My name is Mark.  I was born in the fifties also. I can tell by the details you provided THAT I AM YOUR HALF BROTHER. This is not an internet scam or information gathering technique.  You must be about sixty-four about now.  Glad to meet you.

Mark

Hello Mark. Obviously you have read what I have put in. You know that I never met my dad. I have no picture. Could you provide me with a picture?

This is a lot to take in at one time. I would like to know more about you. Were you raised by your father? Did you know his parents?

Mark there so many questions I have.

I hope you want to continue communicating.

Sincerely,

Johnny

Hello Johny,

Glad to meet you again.

I avoid giving out a lot of personal information over the internet.  My public commercial email is at blakemark@yahoo.com

Your father taught me how to play guitar and drums; he could play drums like Gene Krupa.  He got married and divorced in the late 1950's and 60's.  His leg wound certainly slowed him down, but he was still boisterous.  He got re-married in the late 50's and divorced around 1960.  He wasn't a bad guy.  He got married again at about the age of sixty, before he passed away.

I would have to look through all kinds of suitcases and boxes to find his picture.

Let's keep in touch if you wish, we are both getting old now too.  My email at blakemark@yahoo.com is almost full everyday so please use CAPS IN YOUR MESSAGE HEADING.

There are several John J Blakes listed that were born between 1890

& 1900 that may be his father. Researching them may help find more info about your father.

Thank you. I was raised by my mother and grandmother. I obviously have information on them especially since my mother is still alive. What I do not have a lot of information on is my father and especially his father. The information along this string is correct. I have a lot of his military records along with his death certicate. What I do not have is his picture. I would like to know what he looks like. Is there an obit on him? Is there another other source where I can get his picture?

I looked on GenealogyBank of an obit without any luck. You may want to contact these folks:

My problem is, i have found 4 Johnnie Blake Jr.All born different places,So if

you know his birth place, let me know. And is his birth date Dec 22 1928 correct.

If you contact the Army, they will have his picture.Send them his serial #.Or i might

find his school book if know city he was raised in.
by Wayne Morgan G2G Astronaut (1.1m points)
I was able to get my father's Army records but there was no picture. I found a letter in his file requesting a picture but he did not turn one in......odd. He was from Milwaukee, WI but I do know the high school he attended: Wauwatosa, WI and graduated in 1945 or left in that year. He also attended a vocational school: West Allis Vaocational School for one year.

Here is your dad social security # j.j. Blake , 395-24-4417, issued in Wisconson

before 1951

I have a picture of your dad,may be end of next week before i can send it.Having

trouble sending it. my friend can help me next week doing it.

Look at 1930 Census for just John Blake, born about 1923,Mother Mary Blake,

See if  you recognize any family members.
by Wayne Morgan G2G Astronaut (1.1m points)
Thank you Wayne. I will cross reference military and death certificate to verify correct social. His mother's name was Methilda Blake or Tillie for short. He was born 12 22 1928. If you have found a picture of my dad then you will be the first person to have offered me visual record of my father. If it turns out to be him in the photograph you have it will be for me the first time seeing my father. I can not express how emotional this will be for me and how grateful I am to you for finally granting my wish to see my dad.
Hi Wayne: There's a possibility that Methilda Blake is my father's step-mother. Unless you wrote down the wrong social I have 395-24-4477. This is so frustrating. I know next nothing of this man. I have his military records, death certificate and so on but it does not tell me enough. HIs last address at his death: 2006A So. 11th Street, Milwaukee, WI 53204 and his last wife's name is Eva Marie Blake. As I read more I will forward anything I can to help.

Thank you so much for your time and patiences.

Johnny R Blake
Hi Wayne. I was wondering if you still had a picture of dad. I've never even seen him so if it is him I am extremely anxious to see that photograph. Please let know if you still have that picture.
