Is there a limit to how large a free space profile can be?

I am currently adding the memoirs of my 4X great grandfather to a free space profile. I have added about 80 pages so far without a problem, but it runs to about 200 pages altogether. My preference would be to have it all in one place, but I don't want to proceed with adding more to the same profile if it will foul up the work I have already done.

I have not seen a definitive limit, but there may be problems for people viewing the page if it is very large. A message I see when creating cemetery pages is "some browsers may have problems with this page" when it starts to grow large.

It would be preferable to break up large amounts of information for various reasons. For instance, someone on limited bandwidth may have problems loading such a large amount of data, especially if they have to do it at multiple sittings.

Systems with limited resources may also choke.

Perhaps converting the memoirs into one or more downloadable pdf's (uploaded as an image) might be a better option, and the free space page used for a summary.

Thanks Paul.

I guess that given it is a memoir attached to one particular person's profile, I can go with several space profiles, part !, part 2, etc.
I realize it's a bit after the fact when you already have 80 pages done but I would strongly second Paul's suggestion to upload the memoir in a pdf file - it's probably easier for people to read through in that format - people can't try to change it - and you can use the free space page to give the brief highlight reel/synopsis that engages people to read the whole 200 pages, as well as highlighting any facts that the memoir is a primary source for.
OK. Not really fond of PDF format. Doesn't allow links to other profiles which I have highlighted from text etc. But if that is considered the best way to go technically, then that is what I will do. Not really familiar with creating PDF files, but I found a converter program that seems to work.

Thanks for the help.
You CAN add html links to other profiles/pages in a pdf document. I use Openoffice/Libreoffice for doing this. Once the document is ready I "export" it as a PDF.

In Open or Libre office, highlight the text you want to appear as a link, then go to "Insert" then "Hyperlink" and paste the full link into the box.

You can even link to places in the same document (the instructions are a little different for that).

Openoffice and Libreoffice are free downloads for most operating systems and can work with most file formats.
I do have LibreOffice. I used it to copy & paste the text from the free space page into something that my converter could use to create the PDF. (It didn't like HTML) I just tried the hyperlink but I am doing something wrong here. Getting tired. I will try playing some more with it tomorrow. Thanks for all the help.
Hi Dave,

Why can't you continue on the way you are, but break it up into sections just as the memoir is broken up and then just add a link at the bottom of the section to the next free page with the continued information. I agree with you that your links to other profiles will not be as effective in a pdf format. The memoir connects to so many other family members and other prominent historical persons that it would be a shame to not present it in the most user friendly method. Just an opinion, of course you know I have a personal interest. Watching closely in case I want to add 'F of the F's' in the same way.
Well, all the work is involved with scanning the pages, converting them to text and then editing. Uploading to a free space page or PDF file is a simple copy & paste after that. So I don't see why I can't do both!
