I would like to find information on relatives of Curtis Tyrrell, born in Connecticut in 1812.

From what I have found so far, this Curtis Tyrrell was my great-great-great grandfather. He would have been a descendent to one of the original Tyrrell brothers said to have come to the US from Lancaster, England in the 1780s. The story is that all Tyrrells with this spelling are related to one of these four brothers, of which Curtis's father or grandfather may be one. If I can find his father's name, then it will be very exciting, and enable me to really expand on the Tyrrell family.

I am researching this as well as I think this is my family. On findagrave.com it says Johns father is Job Terrill and Keziah York however I can't find anything to support this elsewhere. I am a descendent of Curtis Tyrrell through Milton his son Merton, his son Sheldon then my father. Any piece to this puzzle would be appreciated!

Yes, I edited my question to say Curtis Tyrrell born in Connecticut. Yesterday, the information on that site said he was born in Massachusetts. I realize it makes more sense that he was born in Connecticut. So, if John Tyrrell was born in 1789, his father may be one of the four who came over from Lancaster, England? My next step is to research John's father.

I received this wonderful information from Lyle Rockwell....

As we follow Curtis & Polly from 1850 to 1860, all children including LeRoy & Milton were born to Polly. Matter of fact, LeRoy’s death certificate in the state of Washington states his parent’s were Curtis & Polly Blakesley Tyrrell. So since Polly didn’t die until 1861, I think we can assume Milton was the son of Polly & Curtis. Minerva didn’t come into the picture until after Polly passed away.

All of the above easily traces back to Roger Terrell of Connecticut in the early to mid-1600s. I am very pleased to receive the information.

Hello, and we're related! My family came off the boat and settled in Newtown as well as some other towns in that area where they stayed for many years. I have the Tyrrell side sorted all the way back to the year 1000. If you'd like to share, let me know!
