When and where was James Knott born? (ca 1721)

Question

I believe James Knott was born about 1721 (-1728) in Nansemond County, VA, but I need documentation to prove that. He died in Granville County, NC about 1781.

He had a son, David Knott, who was married to Mary Catharine Downey and lived in Granville Co, NC.
