My great great grandfather was born in Switzerland, I am interested.
As so many of my ancestors came from there, I would be very interested.
I have several lineages tracing their origin to Switzerland. I would be very interested in contributing to this project.
Very interested in a Switzerland project. 3 of 4 of my grandparents and all of my great grandparents were born in Switzerland.
Some of my ancestors came from Canton of Bern and settled in the Heartlands; Nebraska, Dakotas, Minnesota, Illinois. I started a Swiss in the Heartlands project but need to merge it under a larger Swiss grouping. If you could help me do that, I would be very appreciative.
Victoria,

Please send me your e-mail so I can add you as a trusted member of the Switzerland Project. We already have a Bern, Switzerland category and I invite you to develop it further:

http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Bern%2C_Switzerland

The Switzerland Project Page is a duplication of the Switzerland page we already have. http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Switzerland

A far as a Swiss in the Heartlands, I would invite you to develop a category similar to the others found on the Swiss Emigrants page: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Swiss_Emigrants

Thanks for your interest and I look forward to your participation.
Did this Project start?

Yes, it did.  The signup thread has been closed with the note:

Project is currently dormant. When the project has a new leader, new members will be accepted.

Thanks, Simon.
This project seems to have stalled. Is there any way I can be added as a co-manager without Simon's approval so we can move the project forward? I've sent messages to Simon, but have heard no response or seen any action taken.

Hi Mark

Did you request to join the Trusted List?  In the meantime, Switzerland is able to be edited by you.

I did request to join the trusted list. I know I can edit the page, but I want to be able to add members so we can move from a Space to a Project.

Yes, I need to trace the Schurch/Schirck family from Bern or Zurich. They emigrated to Muttersholtz, Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France after the 30 Years War ended in the 1600s

Thank you!

Yes.  The Ockerman, so far, I've traced to New Bern, NC, which was founded 1710 by two waves of immigrants, one from the Palatine and the other Swiss.

I would also be interested in a Swiss project.  My Dardinger Surname came from a town in Solothurn and my 2ggrandfather Stephen immigrated to America in 1858 on the ship William Tell with his wife and 3 children.  His wife's maiden name was Schleup (or any of several other spelling varients.

Yes definitely, as a guest member I was able to make a „ged-compare“ and there was not one match.

I'm wondering if there is really no entry available, my gedcom file had just a bit less than 300 entries and I was expecting at least a few matches.

Thank you röbi

I have taken over as the new manager of the Switzerland project:

Send me a message and I can add you as a member. I'm working on moving from a FreeSpace to a Fully recognized Project. Your assistance in adding to our site will be greatly appreciated.

Bonnie,

Send me your e-mail address and I can add you as a member. What canton do your ancestors come from?

What more does it take to get the Switzerland Project upgraded from a simple space to a full-fledged project? We have many members and are starting to develop a repository of information. It's been over a year now and I would like to move this forward. From what I understand the next step needs and administrator's touch. Who can help us? What do I need to do to make the next step? Once this becomes a full project I can see that a lot more information will be generated.
