Help Request for Family Brickwall: Lillie Ravan Dunlap

Question

Lillie Ravan Dunlap is a true brickwall. She was born about 1805 in Greenville, South Carolina. Although there are possibilities, such as an English connection and a Germanic one, I am still unable to connect Lillie with her true family. I have ruled out the English surname of Ravan, as the Ravan families in Great Britain say their family members didn't immigrate. She seems to have been quite the slippery entity in all of the census, giving her birthdates various years each time. Any and all help is very much appreciated. So, I give up! Help!

Thank you, Chris,  for your response.  But I am already familiar with William Ravan (1775-1855). However,  he is not the problem I have. His supposed spouse, Ann Hetherington, would be the mother of children born in the Carolinas, yet, she never left England to my knowledge. So, my question is not so simple. I need all the dots in order to draw the lines to complete the picture.  So, I am back to square one. I have been working with this problem a long time, but I haven't found an answer yet. Are there any other possibilities? Something I have missed?  Note: I have added William and Ann back into the profile so everyone can see them.
