I have found JOHN RYAN'S parents they were KEYRAN RYAN and MARY FITZPATRICK from KILKENNY IRELAND.Can anyone give me any information on them besides the fact that they were both born and died in Kilkenny Ireland. I know JOHN was transported to Australia for a term of 7 years. I believe KEYRAN was a farmer.?

Have you sent off for a transcript of the marriage? This will usually have the names of the parents on it. The registration number is 3651/1868 in Wollombi District. It's best to use a transcription agent; NSW BDM are abysmally slow and more expensive.

Does his death certificate have his parents names?

Also, have you found them in the electoral rolls for Qld starting in 1901? That will help give a time frame.

It's difficult to identify them with such common names.

His gravestone states "son of Keyran and Mary of Kilkenny" the only place I have been able to find anything about his parents. He was transported in 1824 for "insurrection" Thank you Dan Ryan
