Abial Alby Smith

Hi, my great, great, great, great, great Grandfather was Rufus Easton of Missouri.  Although he and his family were quite well known, I have been able to find very little about his wife, Abail "Alby" Smith.  I know that she has a sister, Bricea Smith who later married a Simpson.  I have a Genealogist working on this currently and still nothing.  She was born in Dudley Settlement, New York near Bath township in 1783 and married in Rome NY.   She lived the majority of her life in Missouri where she passed away in 1849.

Thanks for any assistance!

Lauara, I may have figured it out.  As I stated before go to find a grave.com and you will see the monument marking the grave of Abial Alby Smith Easton.  You can go from there on finding other stuff.  I am new to this stuff so I hope this helps.  You also may want to search at familysearch.org.  This is a free search and very helpful.  Hope that I helped you.

HI Tom,

Not only have I done that but I have searched Church records in NY...unfortunately Stueben county was formed later (after her birth)...finding her parents is the biggest challenged I have faced thus far.  It's very odd that she was seemingly well educated but that there is nothing on her parents.  Some folks have listed Abraham Smith as her father and Diana Ducycinck (sp) as he Mother but I looked at some of their records and did not see Alby or Bricea mentioned.  :-(  The Ducycick's were prominent Dutch family and there is a ton on them so that would have been cool.

Best of luck on your searching and let me know if you find anything. I will do the same.  Also, I am going to load my family free data so you can see that if you like.
