How do I know if the Kennedys in our tree are linked to John F. Kennedy?

On  my mothers side is Grandpa Alan Kennedy who came from France to Canada then to Utica,NY. How do I check our relation to John F. Kennedy

You can also add your material to www.FamilySearch.org and then open www.Relativefinder.org. It will let you know what famous and infamous people you are related to and exactly how.

I have a saint in the family, Elvis, Disney, Jesse James, etc.

Google for an excellent One Name Study on Kennedys, with a huge database.

Main point is that the Scottish Kennedys and the Irish Kennedys have separate origins and are not related.

Which is not to say that nobody migrated.  There are a lot of Scots-Irish Kennedys, who come from Ireland but are unrelated to the old-Irish Kennedys, as their yDNA would prove.

Rumour (WikiTree) has it that the political Kennedys are Scots-Irish.  But I don't suppose any DNA results are available.

Further to what R. J. Said...

Use the WikiTree connections finder to see.  Open the Kennedy profile that you re curious about, then go up to the menus, top right corner of every profile page and click on the one with the WikiTree ID. Yours is Soliday-62. Scroll down to "Relationship To Me" and click it.

I just checked to see if you and I are related - NOT YET. Once you get more of your limbs added to WikiTree you will be able to do this and get results IF there is a connection.
