John Short's wife is not Hannah Montgomery as stated-

Question

This is in regards to my 2x great grandfather, John Short 1805 (+-2) 1852-3 in Union County NC. His son (my great grandfather) Minor Jackson Short (1837-1932), also of Union County, NC., shows on his death certificate that Hannah Montgomery was his mother, hence John Short's wife. That was an error- John Short's wife was Nancy (last name not known). Hannah Montgomery was Minor Jackson's wife. How can that error be rectified?
