Yes I guess the Coorts could later have turned in to Coetse (Coorts , maybe it was Coert(s) and just written wrong ? From Coorts/ Coerts to Coets(e) seems to be a very small step (and maybe meaning he used the name of his grandfather for Last name or his mothers patronymic) It could very well be during a French period the name was ''Franchized'', so people all were just searching for someone named Couche ? Well I will look for some more tonight :) And of course the name Coetse(e) or Coetzee could have come from the place Coetzenburg (Coetsenburgh) in South Africa ?
