Every now and then, I try to work on Unknowns, but often end up frustrated and unable to make any progress. Yesterday was different - I hit the jackpot - I found the LNAB (scored goal 1) plus found sources for 3 other profiles in the Unsourced category (scored goal 2), plus found a very responsive profile manager (scored goal 3)!!!
I not only found the correct LNAB for an "Unkown" (note mis-spelling) but also found many sources of information about Elsie, her husband, and his parents. All these profiles were in the Unsourced category and had been completely empty since their creation. I wrote to the profile manager to ask him to change the LNAB and mentioned all the information I had found. He responded very quickly and told me to go ahead and add what I found.
In addition to adding the sources, I was able to write bios for these 4 people. I also discovered that Elsie's husband, who was the only child listed for his parents, was one of ten children and I now have enough information to create their profiles with sourced bios, as well. When I'm done, I will add the manager of the rest of the family to the ones I add and remove myself from them. I just finished the first of these - Bertha Griebe. It looks like I have bitten off a big chunk of work here because I'm finding enough to add spouses and children for this whole generation - I even have enough to add Bertha's husband's former wife and children!
