Shared Photo: Footstools made by John H. Biebigheiser

My great grandfather made these footstools about 1935 when he was about 76 years old! My understanding from what I've been told is that he was nearly blind from cataracts! These were made without power tools! He was a carriage trimmer in his younger years and helped his father build and trim carriages.

I own both of these footstools now.

The larger one I used to sit on when I was a kid. I had it sitting over a heat register to keep warm in the winter!!

Oh my goodness, BeBe - what a treasure!  They are absolutely beautiful and you must take a tremendous amount of pride in knowing that your very own great grandfather made them totally by hand.  There is nothing like quality workmanship to give me goosebumps!!!
