I have been able to trace my line through the following indidviduals:

Morris Beasley --> Weightman Beasley --> John Beasley

Earliest records I can find are 1850 census that directly links Weightman to John.  Any further information would be very helpful.

Dear Morris (& Doug) -

There are probably more family members on that same 1850 census page.  The two families listed ahead of the John Beasley family Doug reported above are:

Waitman Beasley, male age 49;  with Clark Beasley, female age 40;   and Lourana Hull, female age 90.

Hezekiah Beasley, male age 27;  with Ann Beasley, female age 21.

It is a puzzle just waiting for a family member to solve it.  -NGP

Morris, this looks like a familiar discussion that I've had with someone but can't find it. In my years working with the Beasley Project and Beasley DNA, I know it has come up. I have done some work in Currituck county I'll need to look up, but I thought I'd take a moment to introduce myself and my interest in working with you. I have been working with Beasley One-Name and DNA Projects for years and I'm just beginning to expand that work on WikiTree. I would like to keep in touch. But the MOST IMPORTANT THING you can do if you want to get some good direction is DNA testing.

HERE is a link to the FTDNA Beasley DNA Project where you can both join the project and order a test at the Project discount rate. I recommend the YDNA67 marker test which is now below the normal discounted rate. Please contact me for questions. When I get the Project better organized at WikiTree, I would be pleased to have you join.

OK, I found the work I had been doing. Not sure what prompted it at the time but I had started a comprehensive search of all Beasley (any spelling) families in Currituck County for the census reports in  1790, 1800, 1810, 1820 and 1830. I just got started with 1840 and 1850 when I started chasing a different squirrel. There are some family names that might be helpful that I'll put together for you.
Now I've found the discussions with colleagues that prompted my work on Currituck County. Some of the speculation was whether this line might have some connection to the particular YDNA Haplotype I'm in. I have a boatload of information I'll assemble for you. I don't see anything yet that specifically connects your John (Hannah) Beasley, but there are plenty of candidates.
