I, too, am working on Simeon Woodrow the immigrant to West Jersy who died in Pennsylvania. Documentation found on his land transactions in both places, but his origins in Scotland and/or England are not documented as far as I have found. I continue to work. Feel free to contact/share if you like.

Hi saw your post thought I could help or confuze. Simeon Woodrow according to all ancestry trees (44) he was the son of the Rev. James Wodrow. James had another son named Robert who was also a Rev and wrote the story of his fathers life. There is no citation from Robert that he had a brother named Simeon. This is important because James descended from nobility. So who his Simeon Wodrow's parents?

I agree with you that Simeon Woodrow was not of the Scottish Wodrow family. I, too, find nothing about him in the Wodrow biography (available at Wikipedia). Also, the son of scholars would probably not sign with an X as Simeon did in West Jersey (now New Jersy). I have updated much information on www.familysearch.org. Please check there. Comments welcome, of course.
