Need help finding any links to my paternal grandfather William Paul Truitt of Somers Point, NJ

Question

The only info i've been able to find on my paternal grandfather is his name and birthdate, his social that was issued in Virginia, the names of his wife and two children (Gloria Mary Lee, William Paul Truitt JR, Thomas Truitt), and that he lived in Somers Point, NJ nearly all of his life with a record for Atlantic City. The other Truitt's of Atlantic City seem to all be African American and we are European. If anyone has any suggestions or thinks he could be related or please help thank you!

yes this is the correct family... i've been trying to find out William Sr birthplace, parents, any siblings etc. specifically the parents... he is the shortest point on my tree... i can trace back some lineages to the middle ages but his nowhere lol

yes this is him. his ssn was issued in virgina which doesn't necessarily mean he was born there... i'm looking for a means of extending his tree so i can know more about where my surname comes from... so parents or siblings that would lead to parents or somehow grand parents that would lead to parents though that seems like a stretch...

Truitt

Recorded in several modern spelling forms including Tyrwhitt, Truett, and Truitt, this is a surname of English origins. It is locational from a village called Trewhitt in the county of Northumberland. First recorded in the year 1115 as Tirwit, and later in 1236 as Tyrwit, it derives from the pre 7th century Olde English or possibly Norse words 'tyri-pvit' meaning the meadow (pvit) in the resinous woods, presumably a reference to fir or pine forests. Locational surnames are usually 'from' names. That is to say they were surnames given to people after they left their original homes to move elsewhere. The easiest way to identify a stranger was to call him, or sometimes her, by the name of the place from whence they came. Spelling being at best erratic and local dialects very thick, often lead to the development of 'sounds like' forms.
