Who was the mother of George William Hammond (b 1871 in Arkansas)

I've been looking for possible information on the mother of George William HAMMOND.  The 1880 census records for Arkansas showed that his father was born in Arkansas and his mother born in Germany.  My grandfather commented on several occasions that his accent was so thick that he could barely understand him.  The same census records show that his father (James Andrew Hammond b 1846 in Arkansas) was married to a woman by the name of Jessie Maude (last name unknown) who was also born in Arkansas.

George William Hammond's death certificate has "don't know" for his mother.

I would be grateful if anyone can at least point me in the right direction.

You have the right father (which I already have this death certificate), but not the right mother.  In George William Hammond's death certificate it has the mother as "don't know."  And in the first census he's in, it clearly states that George was born in Arkansas, and that his father was also born in Arkansas, but mother born in Germany.  But at the same time it shows James Andrew's (sometimes he was referred to as just Andrew) wife was born in Arkansas...

What I do know is that my Grandad mentioned that his mother (George William's oldest daughter) could speak Dutch (either it's German or Dutch for there are some comments that they came from the low countries, with Luxembourg being the one mentioned the most.
