Try to find more about Gehrtz family, lived in west prussen, do it 4 my grandmom. Can u help me

Where were they from, who they were, their were rich or poor? I know only that they coming from west prussen near Thorn/Toruń, i finde some old articles in internet but i dont know who is who.. I know that my grandfather Bernard Gehrtz have some brothers two of them lives in Germany, and i know that their in wermacht at wwII can anybody say me more?
