Fruzie Kelly, black and native American. Dangerfield, Tx or possibly California.

Question

My great grandmother's name is Frusie Kelly.  She lived in Dangerfield Texas also.  I am not sure about the spelling of her last name.  I am looking for information about her.  I am not sure if she was related to Oscars or not, but she was definitely native American and African American.  Our oral history tells us that she lived in a cabin in a wooded area near dangerfield and I know she had at least two daughters, Silva (my grandmother ) and cat ( possibly short for Catherine ). Also a brother to my grandmother named Claude Mitchell.  I am told that Frusie may have moved to California  (possibly Bakersfield ) near her daughter cat, where she died.

  If you have any information about anything related, my family would really appreciate it.

Frusie Kelly married Irvin Pierson Sept 17 1927.Navarro Texas.

California death index Fruzie Kelley died Jan 24 1978 ,Kern County

California.This Fruzie born Texas April 4 1904.Why she died Kelley and

not married name Pierson??, Maybe you can give me some answers.Before i go further.

I am not sure why the name was not listed.  As I understand it.....she had at least one child (my grandmother) with Jehue Coffey (my great grandfather).  My grandmother's name is Sylvia.   There is somewhat of an interesting back story that my grandmother share with me before she died.  She said Jehue and Fruzie (Frusie) were bootleggers during the prohibition era.  I am not sure if any of this works with the dates and time periods that we are exploring.  I am just looking for anything I can learn about her.
