McManus-145 for example.

Also, is there a way or place to go to to see ONLY and ALL your own contributions' IDs?

The green open lock is a public biography and tree, but you need to be on the trusted list to edit. The white open locks are the ones any person can edit.

Contributions: Drop down menus in the upper right corner under "My Wikitree". Fourth one down is "Contributions" - It shows all your contributions. The ID's will show up if you hover your cursor over the name

Many thanks!  I just tested another I was editing and it changed, but it is a green unlocked lock?  How come?  Also, I am trying to put in a reference and have tried six ways from Sunday but can't get it to stick.

In 1844 his widow and their son brought suit <ref>Lancaster Dist., SC Court of Equity Decree Books 1837-1868 p115-121 Pleasant McManus vs. John McManus </ref>against the eldest  Have also tried not leaving spaces between the <>.
You have to put in a <references /> tag somewhere.  This tells it where you want it to display the footnotes.
BINGO!  Ihad the bold References with == and the other way around - but no space between the "s" and the /.  There are a dozen ways to get it wrong.  THANKS!
This might help you understand the different privacy levels

Barb,  If you were able to edit a "green" profile then you are either a manager or on the trusted list for it.  If you do not meet this condition then you will not even see the Edit tab.
Hi Anne- I'm confused.  Huff-449 and Huff-598 are both white and open but I still can't merge them.  I am still waiting for response from creators but want to confirm they are in fact white .????? Or is merging a different issue altogether?
You're correct, Barb - merging is a different issue.  You can propose a merge between any two profiles, regardless of their privacy level and regardless of whether or not you are on the trusted list.

If you are a manager of both profiles then the merge will happen immediately because WikiTree will assume that you approve it.

If you are manager of one of the profiles then that will show your approval, again because WikiTree will assume that you approve it.  The other profile manager will have an opportunity to review your merge proposal and either approve it (in which case it will happen immediately, since the first manager (you) have already approved it  The manager can also reject the merge.  If the manager does neither of those things in 30 days then the merge will automatically receive default approval, but it will not be automatically completed.  Any WikiTree member can approve the merge after that to make it happen.

If you are not the manager of either profile then it works pretty much the same, except that in this case both managers have the same 30 day opportunity to approve or reject the merge and if both approve it during that time then it will automatically happen immediately.
Yes you should be able to propose a merge, go to the bottom of Huff-598 and click on initiate a merge. this takes you to another page where you can put in Huff-449. Compare them (to make sure you put in the right numbers) than click on merge them. The merge will be proposed and it's up to the managers to take care of it.
Got it Gaile!  Thanks, yes I have the requests pending but did it wrong first and wasted a full month.  Now waiting the second month.  I need to be more patient. This is the best website for support I have ever come across.  You guys are marvelous!  Barb
