His sister Marguerite Marie (Riel) Zastre 's husband,  Jean-Baptiste (Zastre) Zaste's father,  Louis Gonzague Isaac (Zace) Zastre is my fourth great grandfather, which makes him my.... great great great uncle in law?? haha

Or, according to the relationship finder, my 8th cousin 3 times removed.

This was quite a shock when I found out. I don't know much about Metis, except for what we learned in social studies in school about the Red River Rebellion and Riel's unfortunate fate, but I will admit, that on finding out there was a connection (closer than I expected) I have since learned a little bit more. Genaeology has really improved my knowledge of history/world events through research!

He's my 6th cousin 4 times removed. Our common ancestor Jean Mignault. But we share other family lines.
