Jacob Mitchell (1643-1675) any proof of him being an Ensign in Dartmouth Militia?

Jacob Mitchell, b ca 1643, married to Susanna Pope, was commissioned in the Dartmouth Militia in 1674, a year before he and his wife were slain by Indians in Dartmouth.

I have not found any military records that show his commission, but I did find one "source" which I attached to his profile.

Most true sources of information for Jacob do list him as "Ensign", but without further supporting sources of that information, I am skeptical.

Does anyone have information about him being an Ensign in Dartmouth Militia?
