Trying to locate relatives of the Scott family. Cooper Scott was from Anderson South Carolina. Moved to Gainesville Georgia with Matilda had Edward, Williams,Mattie,Mamie, Charlie, James Walter, Georgia.Heywood.I don't know if all these names are right maybe more. Cooper Burt Scott was first to shoot the cannon in the Civil war, in Sumter South Carolina. I appreciate all the help i can get. My Grandpa was Charlie Scott he died when my Dad was three years old. So we never knew our other family. My Grand Mother died when i was three, we know no one. It;s really weird though my uncles have the same first names and i have one Aunt name Mamie,They had 8 children Their address i just learned was 32 Athens st. Gainesville, Ga. Thank you for your help.          Karen

Thank you Mr. Gill, for your great work you did. There is a mystery left open on this end, My Grandfather is, was Charlie Scott, son of Cooper Burt Scott. But i can't seem to find anything on him being their son. He died when my Dad was three years old. He was born 1885 and died in 1928. He left Ganiesville, Ga. Moved to Mississippi Changed his last name to" Davis". He married my Granny Norine Pierson, i am really confused. Can you tell me how i can find out something on this. Thank you Karen.

Don't know if this is the Charlie Scott you are looking for. There were a number of men named Charlie Scott who were born in GA in 1885.

Off the subject a little. My father was stationed in Gainesville, GA during WWII.

Do you know the approximate year that Charlie changed his surname to Davis and or where he was living at the time?

Did he marry Norine Pierson in GA or MS? Do you have the marriage year, and possibly the county and city?

Do you know the cemetery he and his wife were buried in?

Wow! You are really good at your job! I heard he lived in Louisiana with a priest and he changed his name. Meet and married my Grandmother in 1910 in Mississippi. Married In Hancock county i found the marriage certificate. Pass Christian ms. He is buried at Courtny cemetery in Pass Christian. My Grandmother is buried at a different cemetery Evergreen cemetery in Gulfport, Ms.  My Granny named some of her children the same names as his siblings names. Thank you i hope this helps. Again thank you for your help. Karen.
