Frederick William, born about 1836, came to America in 1847 with his (unknown) parents, aboard (unknown) ship. Married (Anna unknown), Lived in St Louis, Missouri, had a daughter (Emma) in 1885. Moved to San Antonio Texas. Had three sons (Gustav Stanislaus 10/18/1889, Emil Joseph 01/01/1891, William ? 11/11/1891). Anna Unknown died shortly after the youngest (William) was born. Frederick William put the boys in an orphanage. We don't know who took the girl in to raise. The youngest was adopted/raised but friends (the Weimer's) of Frederick's, but his name was not changed. The boys ran away from the orphanage when they were about 12-14 years old. Emma is listed on the 1910 Census living in San Antonio Texas, but at some point in time married a Young and moved to Indianapolis Indiana. The father returned to St Louis Missouri area. Many years later, he returned to San Antonio Texas looking for the kids. Did he think they would still be in the orphanage 40+ years later?? Gustav (Gus) married very young, Gus married Martha Ann Wilkins and had 11 children--six boys and five girls. Gus died 1968, Emil Hein never married. Emil died 12/04/1982. William (Willie) Hein never married as far as we know. William's death certificate indicates he was born 11/11/1887, but cannot be since he was the youngest child. William died 01/03/1924 in San Antonio Texas from a gun shot wound to the head. Some say it was a suicide-- we heard that he had PTSD after returning from WWI. William served in the Army during WWI in the 168th Infantry, 42nd Division. We've also heard that he was involved with a policeman's wife and was shot. We have found his grave site in the St Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery in San Antonio Texas.
My husband's (Randell J Cosper) grandfather was Gus Hein. His mother was Minnie L Hein Cosper.
We would like to find out if Frederick William Hein is his name or is it William Frederick Hein. What was his wife's full/maiden name. Who were their parents. Did the parents actually come from Hamburg Germany. What was the name of the ship they boarded. What port of entry did they land in America.  What was Emma's husband's full name.

not Williams,it could have been Willems.Or some other,Immigration

officials would Americanize there names

Mr. Wayne Morgan:

As you can see,  my question is about my husband's great grandfather (Frederick William Hein) and his wife (Anna). I did not state his name as Frederick Williams, not did I state the son's last names as Stanislaus--you did. I gave their full names--first name and middle name. Last name is understood as being Hein, since I did not mention anything different. If this is the information I'll be getting from this site, it surely won't do any good asking for info if this is the response I get.
